The Document Fraud Training Institute (DFTI) is a division of Law Enforcement Training Solutions that has the responsibility for designing, developing, and administering training programs devoted to the prevention, detection and investigation of fraudulent identity documents. The basic and advanced programs are for personnel of federal, state and local law enforcement and homeland security agencies. The DFTI is the leading provider of training in the detection and investigation of fraudulent identity documents. The program is staffed by experts in document security that are among the best in the United States. Our programs provide the most comprehensive, up-to-date information and education available about fraudulent identity documents. The DFTI takes a proactive role of arming students with specialty skills and techniques to investigate and develop prosecutable fraudulent document cases. Through interactive audio visual materials and comprehensive hands-on examination of genuine and fraudulent identification documents, students are provided the best possible training to succeed in the investigation and enforcement of fraudulent document crimes. DFTI provides students with an unique insight into the fraudulent document business “through the eyes of a counterfeiter”. We use this phrase because our instructors have interviewed and been instructed by actual counterfeiters on how the perform their art and how their business is run.
