Advanced Cultural Diversity Training Program

Law Enforcement Training Solutions

The Advanced Cultural Diversity Training Program (CDTP) is a 3 day (24 hour) training program designed to further educate and inform law enforcement officers of common stereotypes and prejudices, including their own, and alternatives that can eliminate or suppress those barriers in both professional and personal life experiences.  The advanced program builds upon the 8 hour program by addressing attitude differences and cultural misconceptions while establishing alternative concepts in providing professional law enforcement service.

Some of the topics in the advanced program include:

· Patrolling in a community of illegal immigrants

· In depth look at the differences between culture, ethnicity and race, myth and stereotype, and prejudice and discrimination

· Understanding of 42 USC Section 1983, Civil Action for Deprivation of Rights

· In depth examination of the professional benefits of valuing diversity within a law enforcement organization and with the community it serves

· Identifying the elements of the police culture and discuss how this culture causes reactions in the general public and how cultural awareness affects communication
